KazNU has established ties with Birkbeck University

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of Birkbeck, University of London, Professor Sally Wheeler, during the BETT 2025 international exhibition held in the United Kingdom.

During the conversation, the parties discussed a range of relevant issues regarding the further development and enhancement of their partnership. The leadership of both universities also signed a cooperation agreement.

As a result of the negotiations, KazNU will engage in joint activities with Birkbeck, University of London. Specifically, the institutions will exchange faculty and students under the academic mobility program, implement research projects, and organize internships for researchers.

The head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, informed Sally Wheeler about the scientific potential and achievements of the institution. In his speech, the rector proposed launching a double-degree program in the near future, as well as organizing a special exhibition and festival for students.

In turn, Sally Wheeler thanked Zhanseit Tuimebayev for his visit to the university. The Vice-Chancellor expressed support for all the proposals made by the rector of KazNU and expressed confidence that the partnership between the two universities would continue to develop and strengthen.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to proceed with the systematic implementation of the aforementioned initiatives.
