A delegation from the Cheung Kong School of Business arrived at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on a working visit and met with the university's leadership.

 

Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazNU – First Vice-Rector Yerkin Duisenov emphasized the systematic cooperation between the university and higher education institutions in China. As part of the bilateral agreements, active academic and research work is being carried out. In the 2023/24 academic year, one faculty member, five doctoral students, ten master's students, and 66 undergraduate students were sent to higher education institutions in China. Currently, 869 students from China are studying at the university.

"Today, the university, which has gained the status of a research university, consists of 16 faculties, 8 research institutes, 140 research laboratories, and 29 scientific centers. KazNU has entered the Top-200 universities in the world in the QS WUR 2025 international ranking. This year, the university rose by 67 positions across 9 indicators, moving from 230th to 163rd place. In 2023, KazNU opened a branch of Northwestern Polytechnical University of China. The university also successfully hosts the Confucius Institute, located within the Faculty of Oriental Studies. I am confident that our co-operation will continue",- said Erkin Ermanovich.

For his part, the head of the Academic Department of the Cheung Kong Business School, Tan Hao, thanked the leadership of KazNU and shared the history and activities of the school to date. "At the Business School, special attention is given to the development of leadership and innovation. To date, Cheung Kong has trained around 10,000 outstanding entrepreneurs and industry leaders worldwide, offering educational programs at various levels. The faculty consists of world-class specialists, invited from leading universities such as Harvard, Stanford, and Wharton. The faculty members possess expert knowledge in Chinese economics and global markets. I hope our cooperation will be fruitful",- said Tan Hao.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed in detail areas of cooperation in the field of education and science, such as joint training of specialists, conducting research, and student exchange.
