KazNU participates in the land management project
A meeting on the Erasmus+ CBHE Strand1 LESLIE-Land Management, Environment&SoLId-WastE: inside education and business in Central Asia project ("Land Resource Management, Environment, and Solid Waste: Education and Business in Central Asia") was held at Fergana Polytechnic University (Uzbekistan).
This project is being implemented by 14 partners from 3 European Union countries (Spain, Italy, Cyprus) and 2 Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the national project coordinator from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Head of the Department of Thermal Physics and Technical Physics at Al-Farabi KazNU, Zh.Shortanbayeva, and Senior Lecturer at the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development, G. Minzhanova.
The Al-Farabi KazNU team is responsible for developing micro-qualifications and a set of electronic learning tools for Central Asian countries, particularly the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The results of this project will enable the creation of an international hub for environmental management, identify key competencies for achieving sustainable development goals in universities and for employers by 2030, develop micro-qualifications in sustainable land and natural resource management, and integrate digital tools as supplementary materials into bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
During the meeting, reports on the progress of tasks within the project work packages were presented, topics and areas for the planned online courses were defined, the forms and content of the micro-qualifications for each university were discussed in accordance with the work packages, and prospects for cooperation with partner universities were reviewed. The work schedule for the completion of the main project packages for 2025 was approved.
