March 14, "Greeting Day" – "Amal Holiday" – is an ancient national holiday of the Kazakh people. This day is celebrated annually on March 14 and is especially widely celebrated in the western regions of Kazakhstan. "Kөрісу" is not just greeting each other and asking about health, but a special tradition that strengthens the spiritual connections inherited from ancestors. Some researchers suggest that the roots of this tradition date back to the ancient Turkic era.

One of the features of this day is a vivid manifestation of the tradition of respecting elders in Kazakh society. Young people specifically visit the elders in the village, family, and clan to greet them and receive their blessing (bata). This is not only a sign of politeness but also a symbol of the unshakeable traditions of the people.

According to ancient beliefs, those who greet each other and shake hands on Kөрісу Day will have goodness multiplied in the new year.

On this day, younger people tried to get the blessings of parents and elders. This is because the blessing given by elders was considered the meaning and direction of life.

"Greeting Day" – "Amal Holiday" – is not just a relic of the past, it is one of the important traditions of the Kazakh people today and in the future. This day is a holiday of kindness, friendship, and brotherhood.
