KazNU celebrated the spring holiday Nauryz

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the spring equinox celebration – Nauryz meiramy, which was held at the First President's Park in the Bostandyk district.
The celebration was attended by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, professors, scholars, faculty members, students, international guests, and residents of the Bostandyk district. The rector congratulated all the guests and participants on the great holiday of Nauryz and noted that the Bostandyk district is the heart of Almaty, serving as both a business and cultural center of the country. It is located in the southeast of Almaty and is one of the largest central districts of the city, with a population of 335,456 people. The district hosts 63 educational institutions, including 34 public and 29 private general education schools. Additionally, there are 11 higher education institutions and 16 specialized secondary educational institutions, where 88,483 students are enrolled. Among them, the largest university is the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Over its 90-year history, the university has made an invaluable contribution to the development of Kazakh education and science, and it continues to make every effort to ensure the competitiveness of the country's higher education and science.
Currently, more than 5,000 professors, teachers, and staff work at the university, and the number of students is around 29,000. After the official part of the event, a concert took place, featuring performances by the university's talented students. The audience enjoyed musical numbers, dance performances, and theatrical productions that reflected the richness of Kazakh culture and traditions. Nauryz meiramy became not only a celebration of spring but also an important event that strengthened the bonds between all nationalities and ethnicities, fostering the exchange of cultural traditions. At the end of the celebration, all participants were able to enjoy traditional national dishes, adding even more color and warmth to this wonderful day.
