MEMBER OF THE US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CAROL MILLER VISITED KAZNU

Member of the US House of Representatives, Carol Miller, visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The distinguished guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU, Zhanseit Tuimebayev. The guests visited the university's museum and learned about its 90-year history.
The university's leader, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, briefed the guests on the activities of KazNU and highlighted the dynamic development of the university's partnership with US universities. Currently, the institution has partnerships with 19 universities in the United States.
In 2014, KazNU signed a memorandum of understanding with the American Councils for International Education. As part of this agreement, more than 120 American students have been accepted under the "Flagship" program, and over 300 students have participated in the RLASP program. Additionally, four professors from the United States have visited the university to conduct lectures as part of academic and research activities.
The members of the delegation also visited the Farabi Library and the museum dedicated to the life and work of the Eastern thinker Abu Nasr al-Farabi.
During the visit, US Congresswoman Carol Miller had a conversation with the university's students and young people from the United States.
"Kazakhstan and the United States are reliable partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, many agreements have been signed in various sectors, and joint projects have been implemented. I am confident that cooperation between the two countries will continue in the future and will be productive", - said Carol Miller.
The honored guest answered questions from the youth about the role of women in politics, the prospects for interparliamentary solidarity between the US and Kazakhstan, as well as the pace of development of ties between the two countries in the field of science and higher education.
