Ties with universities in Uzbekistan will be expanded

The Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov.

The rector and the ambassador exchanged views on current issues within the framework of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities for implementing several joint projects in higher education and science.

During the meeting, KazNU’s Rector, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, congratulated Bakhtiyor Ibragimov on his appointment as ambassador and wished him success in his future work.

«Kazakh-Uzbek relations are at a high level. Partnership cooperation between the two countries is dynamically developing in all areas. It is essential to bring higher education and science to a new level. Al-Farabi KazNU collaborates with 10 universities in Uzbekistan. Additionally, within the framework of the academic mobility program, we have established an exchange of faculty and students. We are always ready to cooperate with universities in Uzbekistan», - said Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

In response, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov expressed his gratitude to the rector for the support provided and noted that he would make every effort to strengthen ties between the universities of both countries.

Following the meeting, the distinguished ambassador visited the «Farabi Hub», a center for innovative products and high-tech projects.
