An international conference, "Ways and Prospects for the Development of Dentistry in Kazakhstan. An Interdisciplinary Approach to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Dental Diseases" was held at the Farabi Scientific Library
The event was attended by leading scientists, professors, doctors and candidates of medical sciences, researchers, and practicing dentists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and South Korea, as well as faculty members and students.
At the opening of the conference, the participants were welcomed by a Board Member – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Altay Kazmagambetov. He emphasized the importance of the event, which aims to create a platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge among specialists in the field of dentistry. A welcoming speech was also delivered by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, S. Kalmakhanov, as well as Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Dentistry at KazNU, M. Temirbayev.
As noted by the speakers, the international conference is a significant event for the professional community. It will contribute to the development of cooperation among scientists, researchers, doctors, and specialists who will discuss modern trends and innovations in diagnostics and the treatment of dental diseases.
At the event, renowned scientists and specialists not only presented their reports but also shared their experiences and opinions. The main topics were dedicated to modern methods of diagnosing oral diseases, new approaches to dental treatment, regenerative dentistry: prospects and developments, the use of 3D technologies and artificial intelligence in dentistry, innovative pain relief and anesthesia methods, as well as a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to patient treatment and the interaction of dentists with doctors from other specialties.
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Dentist of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan, Dean of the School of Dentistry at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, and President of EKAS, Saule Yesembayeva, delivered a report on "Some Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Dentistry." The topic "Methods of Treatment and Prevention of Changes in the Occlusal Plane of Dental Arches in Children" was presented by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, Akbar Saidov, and PhD student of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at Bukhara State Medical Institute, Gavkhar Ruziyeva (Uzbekistan). Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Dentistry at KazNU, and General Director of the Almagest Specialized Center, Maksut Temirbayev, gave a presentation on "Five-Year Experience in Using Minimally Invasive MAGIORE Implants." A researcher from the Academy of Minimally Invasive Implantology (AMII) in Seoul (Korea), DDS Hanee Bae, delivered a report on "Minimally Invasive Implantology – A Modern Trend." The topic "Evidence-Based Approach in Caries Prevention" was presented by a top-category dentist, Board Member of the Kazakhstan Stomatological Association, and Chief Coordinator of the international Colgate campaign in Kazakhstan, Aiman Akhmetkyzy, along with many other experts.
Participants noted that the event not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also strengthened professional connections. The conference concluded with a discussion of the reports and the adoption of a resolution.
