Spiritual and moral values in education
The international conference "Psychological and pedagogical approaches to education and upbringing based on spiritual and moral values" has started at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the implementation of the concept of the educational program "Adal Azamat".
The event, which promotes the formation of students' skills and values necessary for a decent and successful life in modern society, is aimed at discussing the possibilities of integrating education, upbringing and development, exchanging experience in implementing the educational program "Adal Azamat" and creating an educational environment aimed at developing spiritual and moral qualities.
The international conference is organized by the Department of Education of Almaty, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Scientific Research Institute of Turkology and Altai Studies and the public association "Peace through Spirituality".
The scientific forum was attended by psychologists, social educators, and scientists from the USA, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted: "By effectively applying psychological and pedagogical approaches in education and upbringing, we form kind, responsible, conscious citizens. In this context, education based on spiritual and moral values is an investment in the future of society"
Scientists also made presentations at the event and expressed opinions on the following topics: "Value-based education is the basis for the formation of a spiritual and moral personality", "Personality in a global crisis: the role of education", "Pedagogy of cooperation and benevolence: achievements of neuroscience for the improvement of personality and sustainable development of society".
Within the framework of the event, Dagestan State Pedagogical University (Russia), the Public Association "Peace through Spirituality" and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University signed a trilateral memorandum of mutually beneficial cooperation. The conference, which will last two days, will include breakout work and master classes on various approaches to education and upbringing based on spiritual and moral values.
