International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Farabi Alemi" At the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics

On April 3, 2025, the international conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" took place. The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics hosted Section No. 3, titled "Current Problems of Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Ecology."

The conference proceedings for Section No. 3 included 75 theses from various parts of Kazakhstan, presented by institutions such as the Institute of Zoology, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Aliyev Kazakh-Russian Medical University, S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing, K.I. Satpaev Kazakh National Research Technical University, and others.

During the international conference, 25 oral presentations and 2 poster presentations were heard.

Based on the results of the conference, the following awards were given:

• The first-place diploma in the section was awarded to Bibi Batima Sakenkyzy, a 4th-year student at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, al-Farabi KazNU.

• The second-place diploma in the section was awarded to Leyla Adikovna Ibragimova, a 4th-year student at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, al-Farabi KazNU; and Bekzhan Nurchadamululy Maikotov, a junior researcher at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing.

• The third-place diplomas in the section were awarded to 4th-year students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, al-Farabi KazNU: Akbota Izbasarova, Renata Ramelyevna Khalmatova, and Zhanar Zhanatkyzy Marat.

Encouragement prizes from the department (souvenir notebooks with the KazNU logo) were awarded to students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, al-Farabi KazNU: Zulkharnai Bektasov, Temirkhan Serikovich Kazanbasov, as well as a 3rd-year student of South Kazakhstan State University, Olzhas Maratuly Amangeldiev.

All participants of the conference received certificates of participation.
