The International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “FARABI ALEMI” was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences
From April 3 to 5, 2025, the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “FARABI ALEMI” was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences.
At the conference, current problems of various industries were discussed in the following breakout sessions:
- Contemporary Geographic Research and Spatial Development;
- Innovations and Methodology in Geographic Education;
- Sustainable Land Use and Modern Land Management Technologies;
- Modern Trends and Digital Technologies in Cadastral Systems;
- Digital Geoinformatics and Natural Risk Management in an Era of Technological;
- Geodesy and big data: digital solutions for sustainable development;
- Climate change and water resources;
- Actual issues in the tourism industry;
- Modern trends in the hospitality industry;
- Digital technologies for sustainable development of tourism and hospitality;
- Ecology;
- Human life safety.
As a result of discussing the works of the speakers, the competition commission determined the winners of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “FARABI ALEMI” at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences and awarded diplomas in the following order:
1st place
Shyryntay A., 4th year student of the educational program "6B11101-Tourism". Topic: Assessing smart tourism readiness through key technologies and indicators in urban destination management: a case study of Almaty. Scientific supervisor: PhD Candidate Nuruly Ye.
2nd place
Erlan D. 3rd year student of the educational program “6B05203-Hydrology”. Talgar Ozeni alabyndagi muzdyktardyn keri sheginu dynamicsson bagalau. Scientific supervisor: PhD, senior lecturer Abdullayeva A.S.
3rd place
Madibekova A.A., 3rd year student of the educational program "6B05202-Ecology". Plastic pollution of Lake Markakol. Scientific supervisor: Candidate of Geographical Sciences, senior lecturer Ismukhanova L.T.
The conference included master classes, round tables and scientific seminars on current issues of geography and environmental protection. The conference became a platform for the exchange of experience among students, young scientists and experts in the field of sustainable development. Students and young scientists shared their scientific results and initiatives to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
