Organized by teachers of the Department of plasma physics, nanotechnology and computer physics of the Faculty of physics and technology, an important event "present and future of Kazakhstan's energy" was held among 2nd year students of the EP "Electric Power", dedicated to the development of the energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Students were divided into teams, prepared posters, layouts and presentations, told about the current problems of power plants in the country. The participants focused on the work of various power plants throughout Kazakhstan and analyzed their energy efficiency. They also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of solar and wind stations operating through renewable energy sources, as well as traditional power plants. Among the advantages of traditional power plants, they cited their high power and stability, as well as significant disadvantages, such as high carbon dioxide emissions and negative impact on the environment. Attention was drawn to the fact that renewable energy, even with climate restrictions, will contribute to the development of green energy in the future, based on minimal negative impact on the environment and reduced costs in energy use.

This event determined the social significance of students in connection with the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, taking into account the principles of sustainable development and environmental aspects of the energy sector. The event not only broadened the horizons of students in obtaining professional knowledge, but also revealed the importance of high-quality education in contributing to the development of the country's energy sector. Based on this knowledge and experience, we believe that students made the right choice at the national referendum.
