The International Scientific and Practical Conference on Sustainable Economic Development was held at HSE University.

On April 8-9, 2025, as part of the IV International Farabi Forum at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference was held on the topic: "The Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Changes: Challenges, Consequences, Opportunities."
The event became a landmark occasion for the academic and professional community, bringing together over 300 participants from 15 countries. Among the participants were scholars, economists, representatives of government bodies, businesses, as well as young researchers. The opening speeches were delivered by: Daulet Toleutaevich Mukayev — Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Committee on Socio-Cultural Development; Azimbek Pazylbekuly — Akim of the city of Turkestan; David Cheletti — Professor at the University of Padua (Italy).

Leading experts participated in the plenary session: Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Otbasy Bank" - N.S. Akshanov, founder of the "Lanzhou" restaurant chain, advisor to the chairman of the Public Catering Association - G.E. Maigaryna, PhD, School of Business and Economics, University of Jyväskylä (Finland) - Ayaz A. Sheikh, CEO of Knowledge E (UAE) - Kamran Robert Kardan, Director of the Program Financing Department of JSC "Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund" - F.E. Rashidov, Director for Consumer Rights Protection of the Kazakhstan Association of Financiers, holder of an MBA from Swiss Business School - L.E. Usenbekova, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Marine Studies, University of Trengganu, Malaysia, member of CMILT - Jagann Jeevan, Head of the Marketing Department at RUDN (Russia), Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor - A.V. Lukina, and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Economics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - B.M. Mukhamediyev delivered reports.

The conference discussed current issues in modern economics—business technologies in the context of sustainable development, digital transformation of the financial accounting system, management trends in unstable conditions, and strategic priorities for economic development.
On the second day of the conference, representatives from the private sector and the business community actively participated, and practical workshops and master classes were organized. Participants of the event included the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois, JSC "Kazakhstan Stock Exchange," the auditing company LLP Elite Audit, the Bang Business Faculty at KIMEP University, LLP MK-Global Logistics, LLP Danone, LLP Ivision Development Workshop, LLP Study IQ, IT Company "Price Feed," LLP Bugin Holding, LLP QBI Analytics, and the corporation Astana Motors.

As part of the conference, important measures were taken to improve the quality of modern education and develop the practical and scientific potential of students. One of these measures was the official opening of the "Center for Management and Business Education" classroom, initiated by the "Management" department, and the classroom dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals, organized by the "Economics" department.

The acting member of the Board of KazNU, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities M.K. Ibraimov, who participated in the opening ceremony, emphasized the importance of deepening partnership cooperation and activating fundamental scientific research in the field of economics and management, and also congratulated the faculty on the opening of new classrooms.
The international scientific and practical conference organized by the Higher School of Economics and Business became an important platform for discussing issues of sustainable development of Kazakhstan's economy and exchanging experiences between professionals and stakeholders.
As a result of the conference, a memorandum was signed between the Higher School of Economics and Business and Aibek Nurlanuly Kuatbaev, Managing Director of Bugin Holding Corp LLP, and Maksat Maratuly Kuzembaev, Founder/General Director of the social-educational project Influencers.kz and a business expert.
