On April 11, 2025, a guest lecture on the topic “Digitalization in Taxation” was held for students of the “Finance” educational program as part of the course “Digitalization of Financial Services”, within the framework of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Changes: Challenges, Consequences, Opportunities” at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The lecture was organized by Associate Professor of the “Finance and Accounting” Department, Candidate of Economic Sciences Aizhan Sarsenkyzy Asilova. The guest speakers were experienced professionals from the Medeu District Tax Department of Almaty – Arman Kelimbetov and Anara Zhartybaeva.
During the lecture, students gained in-depth knowledge about the improvement of the tax system, the benefits of electronic services, and the digitalization of tax reporting. The experts provided real-life examples and held an interactive discussion session.
The main goal of the event was to understand the role of digital technologies in taxation and to discuss modern solutions. The invited guests provided clear and comprehensive answers to students’ questions and shared useful insights about taxation and digitalization. This meeting served as an excellent opportunity for students to combine theory with practice and proved to be both informative and engaging.
The exchange of ideas and collaborative discussions increased students’ interest in digitalization processes. Our future is based on innovation, and we always support new approaches and technologies.
At the end of the event, the “Finance and Accounting” Department of the Higher School of Economics and Business at Al-Farabi KazNU and the Medeu District Tax Department of Almaty reached an agreement on signing a memorandum to facilitate internships for undergraduate students and professional placements for master’s students in the future.
