On April 17, 2025, an educational seminar entitled “Youth Against Drugs” was held at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine, and Neuroscience of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. The event was conducted in an offline format and aimed at preventing drug addiction among young people, promoting a conscious attitude toward a healthy lifestyle, and increasing students’ social and legal responsibility.

The seminar was organized within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 — “Good Health and Well-being”, and contributed to raising awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and effective ways to prevent their spread among youth.

Key topics of the seminar included discussions on the social, psychological, and legal aspects of drug addiction, analysis of its negative impact on health and society, as well as the role of education, scientific research, and legal literacy in drug abuse prevention. Special attention was given to the importance of proper upbringing, social support, and the formation of sustainable values among young people.

The seminar was attended by first-year students of the educational program 6B05108 — “Biomedicine”, as well as Senior Lecturer Usipbek Botagoz.

The format of the event provided an open and informative platform for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and increasing students’ awareness of drug-related issues. Participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and shared proposals to strengthen preventive activities at the university.

The seminar made a significant contribution to fostering students’ responsible attitude toward their health, enhancing their legal and social awareness, and promoting the ideas of sustainable development and a healthy lifestyle among young people.
