Meeting Held at KazNU with City University of Hong Kong: Focus on International Collaboration and Sustainable Development (SDG 4 & SDG 17)

On April 15, 2025, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an official meeting with the delegation of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU). The event took place in Auditorium 301 and gathered faculty members, researchers, and students.

The meeting was moderated by Dr. Nurzada Beisen, Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, who emphasized the importance of expanding international academic cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Prof. Sin Wang, Dean of the Faculty of Science at CityU, who expressed high appreciation for KazNU’s scientific and academic potential and conveyed his readiness to build a sustainable platform for joint academic and research initiatives.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the possibility of integrating joint projects into the UN global agenda, particularly in the areas of green technology, digitalization, and sustainable energy. Following the discussion, both parties confirmed their intention to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and take the first steps towards launching joint educational and research programs in the 2025–2026 academic year.
