Cooperation with Beijing University of Foreign Languages

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, held a meeting with a delegation led by Jia Wenjiang, President of Beijing University of Foreign Languages.

During the meeting, the head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, welcoming the honored guests, informed about the activities and achievements of KazNU. In his speech, the Rector stressed the need to hold joint scientific conferences and symposiums, and to implement a double-degree education program in order to build partnerships between the two universities.

"KazNU closely cooperates with Chinese universities. We have enough qualified specialists with knowledge of the Chinese language. In this context, we can jointly develop work on teaching Chinese. It is also necessary to carry out joint scientific projects.  We invite scientists from the Beijing University of Foreign Languages to lead young researchers at KazNU", - said the rector.

In turn, Jia Wenjiang, President of Beijing University of Foreign Languages, expressed support for all initiatives and projects announced at the meeting.

"The university has more than 1,200 international students. Many choose faculties of business, Chinese language and international relations. There is also a high demand for the Kazakh language. In this regard, we ask you to send KazNU scientists to teach Kazakh language to students. In addition, we invite the faculty of KazNU to hold a lecture in an online format", - Jia Wenjiang said.

During the negotiations, the parties agreed on the systematic implementation of these proposals and discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of higher education and science.
