Open Seminar: “Collecting Stones for the Devil, Days of Stoning, and Safety Measures”

On April 16, 2025, an open seminar titled “Collecting Stones for the Devil, Days of Stoning, and Safety Measures” was held at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The seminar was organized as part of the subject “Zakat and Hajj” and was conducted by intern Malikov S. under the supervision of academic advisors M.A. Zhuzei and E. Mazhen.
During the seminar, various aspects of the Jamarat ritual — an essential act of Hajj — were discussed in detail. In particular, topics included the timing and days for stoning the devil, the proper procedure for collecting stones, the religious significance of the ritual according to Sharia, and the safety measures for pilgrims during the process.
The aim of the seminar was to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge to young people and specialists intending to perform Hajj, and to explain the importance of religious practices from an academic and applied perspective. Participants had the opportunity to receive useful information, ask questions, and gain practical guidance.
Such seminars serve as valuable resources for those preparing to perform religious rites in the future.
