Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated the Great Day of the Ulus. Competitions in national sports, a craft fair, and drawing competitions were organized at the cultural event, which gave visitors a wonderful experience.
The goal is to implement the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to celebrate Nauryz Meiramy and increase its significance.
Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, representatives and scientists of universities in Germany, Turkiye, China, Russia, Uzbekistan, France, faculty and students, members of committees of youth organizations took part in the celebration "Nauryz is a harbinger of renewal and creative spirit".
The event was attended by the head of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, who congratulated the audience on the Great Day of the Ulus. In his speech, the rector also focused on the history and significance of the Nauryz Meiramy holiday.
"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized: "The Great Day of the Ulus is a national holiday. Nauryz is, first of all, a celebration of good deeds, a harbinger of renewal and creative spirit". The university hosted the traditional decade of Nauryznama, in which the staff and students actively participated. Educational and cultural events promoting national values and traditions were organized within the framework of the decade. Nauryz is the beginning of renewal and rebirth, prosperity, unity and peace. In the early days, people who survived the winter met and celebrated Nauryz meiram. Currently, this holiday is getting a new life and sound", - said the rector.
In addition, Zhanseit Tuimebayev informed about the results of the work carried out within the framework of the 90th anniversary of KazNU, and noted that in the future large-scale initiatives will be implemented for the benefit of students.
In conclusion, the head of the university announced the winners of the nominations: "Best Faculty", "Best Student House", "Best Auditorium", "Best Laboratory", "Best Center".
The festive event continued with a concert program.
Then the guests visited the yurts assembled for the holiday and watched theatrical performances dedicated to Kazakh traditions and customs. Thus, Kazakh traditions such as presentation, kyz uzatu, and betashar were demonstrated.
