Tokpakbaev Sat Besimbaevich

Date of Birth: September 17, 1939, KazTsIK village, Ili District, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan.

Education

In 1963, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Kazakh State University named after S. M. Kirov with a degree in Law.
He completed training at KGB School No. 302 in Minsk and, in 1971, graduated from the Higher Diplomatic School of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

• July 1963 – Investigator at the Prosecutor’s Office of Almaty Region
• September 1963 – Cadet at KGB School No. 302 in Minsk
• 1963–1991 – Career officer in the KGB of the USSR: rose from operative officer to Head of the KGB Directorate of the Kazakh SSR
• November 1991 – Head of the National Security Committee (NSC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Almaty city and Almaty region
• June 1993 – First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan
• December 1993 – Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan
