KazNU to open joint center "Belt and Road"

A delegation led by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board and Acting Vice–Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, paid a working visit to the city of Urumqi.

First, the delegation attended the first meeting of the Ministers of Education "China – Central Asia".

The event was attended by Ma Xinjiu, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China, Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gani Beisembayev, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-China mechanism, Sun Weidong, scientists, well–known experts.

During the meeting, KazNU and Northwestern Polytechnic University signed an agreement on the establishment of a Kazakh-Chinese elite Engineering Institute. The educational institution also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Xi'an Jiaotong University to publish joint books for Silk Road universities.

Then Vice Rector of KazNU Margulan Kasenovich held a meeting with the rector of Jiangsu Pedagogical University and exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to open a joint center "Belt and Road", exchange teachers and signed a memorandum of understanding.

During a working trip to China, the KazNU delegation took part in the exhibition of digital education of universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the conference of SCO universities.

The event was attended by the Ministers of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia and Tajikistan, rectors and representatives of SCO universities.

During the meeting, Vice-rector of KazNU Margulan Ibraimov made a presentation on "Current trends in the scientific and educational field and internationalization based on the experience of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University"
