The purpose of the symposium is to share scientific experience in studying the history of political repression in the 20–50s of the twentieth century, a common historical disaster for post-Soviet states.
Objectives of the symposium:
According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. K. Tokayev "on the establishment of the state commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression", published on November 24, 2020, commissions have been established in each region, studies have been conducted, and victims have been submitted for rehabilitation. In accordance with this, the exchange of experience with foreign museums on the rehabilitation of victims of political repression;
To discuss with the participants of the symposium ways of organizing Expeditionary research aimed at identifying the places of hidden burial of victims of political repression, types and methods of research. The formation of business ties between museums.
The symposium was held in the museum "victims of political repression", which is located in Zhanat village of Talgar District of Almaty region. Students of the 3rd year of the educational program 6b02205-history of the Faculty of history took an active part in this event.
