Half a century later, graduates of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University met at their alma mater.
The graduates visited the renovated KazNU campus and got acquainted with the university's activities. The delegation included well-known government and public figures, famous journalists, correspondents and luminaries of journalism.
The honored guests visited their native faculty, where they once learned the basics of journalism, looked into the classrooms and study halls where they listened to lectures. In addition, they met and talked with faculty members, recalled their student years.
Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, welcomed the graduates. In his speech, the rector stressed that the university is always proud of its graduates, and invited them to share their experiences by giving lectures to university students. At the end of the meeting, the Rector of KazNU presented the graduates celebrating the 50th anniversary of graduation with the gold medal "Farabi" and the medal "Yeren yenbegi ushin".
The state and public figure, journalist, scientist Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov spoke on behalf of the graduates, expressing gratitude to the leadership and staff of KazNU for the warm welcome and attention. The graduates also emphasized in their speeches that they are proud of the successes and rejoice at the achievements of their alma mater.
At the end of the visit, the guests got acquainted with the work of the Earth remote sensing laboratory and scientific centers located on the territory of KazNU.
