THE MINISTRY OF ECOLOGY AND NATURAL RESOURCES WILL COOPERATE WITH KAZNU SCIENTISTS

Chairman of the Board - Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev at the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University.
The parties discussed topical issues of cooperation in the field of environmental education, sustainable development, the introduction of "green" technologies and the training of qualified personnel for the industry.
After the official part, Minister E.Nysanbayev made an introductory tour of the university campus and visited a number of key scientific centers and laboratories of KazNU. One of the first facilities was the Scientific Center for Sustainable Development and Rational Use of Natural Resources (URiRP). Aliya Aktymbaeva, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, spoke in detail about the center's current projects aimed at monitoring the state of the environment, developing environmental mapping and adapting educational programs to sustainable development goals.
The Minister also got acquainted with the activities of the Earth Remote Sensing Center, operating on the basis of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management. The Minister was shown modern methods of analyzing remote sensing data used to assess the ecological status of territories.
Moldir Dyusebayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, spoke about the work of the Farabi Chem Science cluster scientific platform, focusing on projects in the field of green chemistry, industrial waste recycling and the development of environmentally friendly reagents.
At the Supercomputer Center, the Minister was introduced to the possibilities of high-performance computing for scientific research in the field of climatology, ecology and modeling of natural processes. The presentation was conducted by the Director of the Information Technology Department Galymzhan Sariyev.
During the discussion of the work of the scientific centers, KazNU scientists proposed a number of joint projects aimed at solving priority environmental problems. In turn, Yerlan Nysanbayev expressed readiness for fruitful cooperation.
The minister also visited KazNU's Farabi HUB and the Robotics and Mechatronics Competence Center, where the university's leading scientific laboratories, centers and innovative projects were presented.
