KAZNU HOSTS INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF POLITICAL SCIENTISTS
The XIV International Summer School of Political Scientists: "The role of public administration institutions and civil society of Kazakhstan in the formation of a legal and democratic state" has started at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The purpose of the International Summer School is to promote the development of political education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, improve the skills of teachers of political science and socio–humanitarian disciplines, and strengthen the expert importance of domestic political science.
Erkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board, First Vice–Rector, Doctor of Law, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. He emphasized the special importance of the event dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the role of the Kazakhstan Center for Humanitarian and Political Studies, which annually organizes the International Summer School of Political Scientists with its partners, an event with lectures and discussions discussing political transformations in post-Soviet countries.
"Today, when Kazakhstan is on the path of deep political and social reforms, it is especially important to reflect on the transformation of government institutions and the activation of civil society. It is precisely such dialogue platforms as the Summer School that create opportunities for interdisciplinary analysis, exchange of international experience and development of innovative solutions," said the first Vice–rector. "Our university has always sought to be not only a center of academic knowledge, but also a space for the formation of a new generation of responsible leaders, researchers and experts capable of influencing the future of their country".
Within the framework of the summer school, prominent Kazakhstani and foreign scientists and experts will deliver lectures: Bruno Pinheiro Vanderlei Reis, President of the Brazilian Association for Political Studies (ABCP), Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Aziza Umarova, Head of the Results Office of the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, independent researcher, President of the International Community for development and Progress of Georgia" by Zurab Bezhanishvili, Professor of the Department of Political Theory at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Kirill Koktysh, Doctor of Political Sciences, and others.
The summer school will be held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University for three days. A rich program of lectures, round tables and seminars on current topics of modern political science has been prepared for the participants.
