Erkin Duisenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice–Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held an official meeting with a delegation from Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

At the meeting, Erkin Duisenov noted the achievements of the university and focused on projects implemented in the framework of cooperation with US universities.

"The Resource Center, located at the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU, actively promotes the development of educational and research ties between Kazakhstan and the United States. It ensures the exchange of experience and the strengthening of international relations through student mobile programs, summer schools, academic internships and scientific conferences", - he said.

Also, on April 29, 2024, KazNU and the University of Pennsylvania signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of education and science. Under this agreement, universities exchange faculty and students, conduct joint research, and organize international conferences and symposiums.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to the cooperation between the UNESCO Chair of the Faculty of Journalism of KazNU and the Donald P. Bellisario College.  From March 10 to March 16, 2025, a visit to the college by Dr. Kathleen O'Toole and 10 students as part of the international reporting course allowed them to explore Kazakhstan and find TV program ideas. Today, KazNU cooperates with 19 universities and organizations in the USA.

In his speech, Dr. Laurent Moreau, Vice President of Johns Hopkins Medicine International, expressed readiness to expand bilateral cooperation and suggested ways to implement joint projects.

Following the meeting, both sides discussed areas of joint work in the fields of education, science and medicine, expressed interest in sharing experiences and enhancing student mobility.
