KazNU strengthens ties with Welt Konnect

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a working meeting of Board Member – First Vice Rector Yerkin Duissenov with representatives of the Pakistani engineering and development company WELT KONNECT PVT. LTD. (WKPL). The company specializes in the integrated implementation of turnkey projects in the field of energy and infrastructure.

 

Welcoming the guests, Erkin Duisenov expressed gratitude for the interest shown in cooperation.: "We highly appreciate the Pakistani side's commitment to strengthen ties with our university. KazNU is open to joint initiatives aimed at the development of scientific research and international educational partnership."

During the negotiations, representatives of KazNU spoke about the current status of the university as one of the leading research universities in Kazakhstan, paying special attention to cooperation with Pakistan. Currently, 42 students from Pakistan are studying at KazNU. The University maintains agreements with leading Pakistani universities, including the University of Karachi, the University of Lahore, Quaid Azam, the University of Punjab, as well as the international organization COMSATS, where KazNU acts as a center of excellence in Kazakhstan.

The University operates the COMSATS Center for Climate and Sustainable Development, founded in 2018. In addition, in 2022-23, as part of the state program "Attracting foreign scientists", the university hosted an expert from Pakistan. The meeting was devoted to discussing the prospects of cooperation in the fields of education, science and digital technologies.

Representatives of WELT KONNECT PVT. LTD. They described their activities as aimed at developing sustainable solutions in the field of renewable energy, modernization of networks and market structures with an emphasis on innovation, quality and long-term partnership.

The parties expressed mutual interest in intensifying cooperation and developing specific forms of interaction.

In conclusion, the delegation got acquainted with the work of the Farabi Hub Center for Innovative Products and High-tech Projects, the Center for Remote Sensing of the Earth and the KazNU supercomputer cluster.
