Central Asia's Sustainable Development Goals in a Changing Global Order. SDG 4 and SDG 17

The forum was dedicated to the political, economic, and scientific aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to the challenges related to climate change in Central Asia, viewed from both global and regional perspectives. Sustainable development requires an understanding of the context and consequences of climate change, as well as the identification of effective measures, in particular scientific solutions, to achieve decarbonization goals.

At the official opening, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician Akylbek Kuryshbayev, delivered a welcome speech. In his address, he emphasized the special importance of the SDGs and the need to seek joint solutions to the global challenges of our time.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, also warmly addressed the participants, expressing confidence in the fruitful work of the forum and wishing success to all its participants.

The event was organized in partnership with the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ruhr University Bochum, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Kazakh-German University, the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, and other leading scientific organizations in Germany.

The forum became a vibrant platform for international dialogue, bringing together scientists and experts to discuss pressing issues in science, education, and innovation.
