MIT Professor Harvey Lodish to Deliver a Lecture at Al-Farabi KazNU

On October 29, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will host a series of events dedicated to Republic Day with the participation of Professor Harvey F. Lodish, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA), and co-founder of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.

Program:

• Leadership Lecture – “New Technologies and Building Successful Biotechnology Companies for Disease Treatment: A Personal Story” (11:00–12:30, 15th floor, KazNU).

• Laboratory Visits – Departments of Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Biotechnology (14:30–15:30, Main Academic Building No. 6).

• Campus Tour – visit to KazNU campus (15:30–16:30).

Special Guest: Michelle Erkin, U.S. Consul General in Almaty.
Moderator: Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor, Director of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnology Problems at KazNU, A.K. Bissenbaev.

This event aims to strengthen the university’s international cooperation and provide students and young researchers with opportunities for knowledge exchange and networking.
