Hunger is one of the most pressing problems worldwide

7 october, 2025

Hunger is one of the most pressing problems worldwide. The second of the UN Sustainable Development Goals is aimed precisely at eradicating this hunger. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to provide the population with sufficient and high-quality nutrition, develop agriculture and strengthen food security. Today, millions of people are suffering from hunger, many of them children and the elderly. The causes of hunger are poverty, drought, natural disasters and social inequality. Therefore, States and international organizations should jointly introduce new technologies, support farmers and develop a fair trade system. Eradicating hunger is not just about providing food. It is also a guarantee of maintaining health, opening the way to education and reducing poverty. Ensuring the right of every person to access nutritious food is one of the main tasks of humanity.

On October 7, 4th year students majoring in  "Foreign Philology" of the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the "House of Social Services" of the Labor Mobility Center of Almaty. During the meeting, Adilet Zhanabayev, Director of the Almaty City Center for Labor Mobility, and Seilkhan Yerlanovich, Head of the Job Seekers Support Department at the Abiken Career Center, spoke in great detail about social assistance provided in the country and employment issues.

Let's note the types of activities of the Labor mobility Center in Almaty:

* Youth practice

* Professional industrial practice through an electronic labor exchange

* Online learning

* Recognition of qualifications

* Community service in my free time

Every person in the country was employed, studied online, improved their skills, and completed internships in places necessary to find a good job, which would further contribute to a proper job search.

Eradicating hunger is one of the main tasks of humanity. Solving this problem has a direct impact not only on the availability of food, but also on the health and well-being of people around the world. The measures taken to eliminate hunger within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals are an important part of ensuring economic, social, and environmental stability in the world. Everyone has the right to adequate food, and respect for this right can guarantee stability and justice in the world. Achieving the goal of "zero hunger" is not just a good goal, it is the greatest legacy that we leave to future generations.
