Exchange of experience on creation of innovative territories

Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, received a delegation of representatives of scientific organizations and higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation, during which the parties discussed the prospects for fruitful partnership.

During the conversation, the rector of al-Farabi Kazakh National University stressed the strategic importance of the Kazakh-Russian exchange of experience in the field of formation of innovative territories and infrastructures of science cities. The head of the university pointed out the advantages of close cooperation between universities and academic and industrial partners, which will attract young people, high-tech companies and unite modern research centers into a single ecosystem.

Vyacheslav Seliverstov, Head of the Center for Strategic Analysis and Planning, Director of the International Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Problems of Eurasian Cross-border Interactions, also spoke at the meeting. He noted that the Russian experience of successful operation of academic towns and science cities can become the basis for the Kazakh model. According to him, the key factors for the sustainable development of such territories are well-developed infrastructure, effective management mechanisms and long-term examples of scientific and innovative growth. He also stressed the interest in sharing best practices, which will help in the formation of similar knowledge centers in Kazakhstan.

Further, the participants discussed the creation of a joint research center, the exchange of experience in the development of the infrastructure of science cities and joint research. It was noted that the delegation plans to continue the dialogue in the format of working meetings and expert sessions aimed at detailed elaboration of concepts, schedules for the implementation and financing of the project.

A campus tour was organized for the honored guests to familiarize themselves with the scientific infrastructure of the university.
