An International Round Table Dedicated to the Scholarly Legacy of Professor D.D. Duysenbekov Held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On October 4, 2025, the Scientific Library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international scientific and practical round table on the topic “Legal Psychology: Theory, Practice, and Prospects,” dedicated to the memory of the distinguished scholar and educator, Professor Daulet Dubekovich Duysenbekov.

The round table focused on an in-depth study and discussion of pressing issues in legal psychology – an interdisciplinary field that bridges psychology and law. Participants explored the theoretical foundations, modern methods, and practical applications of legal psychology across various domains, including forensic expertise, law enforcement activities, and psychological support for participants in criminal and civil proceedings.

The event served as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among scholars and practitioners from different countries – Russia, Belarus, the United States, Canada, Uzbekistan – as well as from leading universities in Kazakhstan. Participants emphasized the importance of preserving and further developing the scientific traditions established by Professor D.D. Duysenbekov, who made a significant contribution to the formation and advancement of legal psychology in Kazakhstan.

Professor Duysenbekov’s students and colleagues shared their memories of his professional achievements and teaching mastery, noting that his scholarly legacy continues to inspire a new generation of researchers and practitioners.

The round table became an important event for the academic community, opening new perspectives for cooperation and the development of legal psychology as a vital area of modern science and practice.
