KazNU analyzed the theory of Turkology
The III International conference "Ethno-linguistic Diversity of the World and the Turkic Heritage" has started its work at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event is attended by renowned scientists and experts from Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, China, Kyrgyzstan, Moscow, Altai, the Republic of Sakha, Tatarstan and Tuva of the Russian Federation, as well as from Turkiye and Uzbekistan.
The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Board, First Vice–Rector Erkin Duisenov. In his report, he noted that as a research university, KazNU actively participates in fundamental research in the field of Turkology. At the same time, thanks to the work of scientists, librarians and publishers, many Turkic manuscripts that had not previously been included in scientific circulation were studied and presented to the scientific community.

In his welcoming speech, the President of the Turkic Academy, academician Shahin Mustafayev noted that this conference is of great importance for Turkology and the humanities, and appreciated it as a kind initiative that will give a new impetus to the in-depth study of the common spiritual and cultural space of the Turkic peoples.
In addition, at the opening of the conference, Yulia Lysenko, head of the Scientific Research Center for Altaic Studies and Turkology "Greater Altai", joined online and made a presentation on a network scientific and educational project of leading universities in Russia and Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the participants comprehensively discussed topical issues of Turkology and Altai studies, diachronic comparative ethnolinguoculturology and the theory of linguistic relations, analyzed general theoretical and methodological problems. Special attention was paid to new scientific trends and methods of studying ethnolinguistic diversity and Turkic heritage.

The conference is being held within the framework of the project "Turkic languages of Kazakhstan in the context of spiritual modernization of society: from graphics to epic text", implemented within the framework of the grant financing program for scientific and scientific–technical projects of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2026.

The conference will continue tomorrow, with participants taking part in breakout discussions, an exchange of views, and events aimed at expanding opportunities for cooperation on various topics.
