On October 14, 2025, first-year political science doctoral students Nurly Marasulov and Azamat Meiramov participated in a roundtable discussion titled "Microentrepreneurship in Cities: A Voluntary Decision or a Necessary Measure", organized by the Center for Social and Political Research "Strategy" in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung in Central Asia.
During the roundtable, the doctoral students from the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies at Al-Farabi KazNU examined the presented results of a project studying the social function and role of microentrepreneurship in ensuring effective employment/self-employment and improving the financial stability and well-being of families in Kazakhstan and participated in a discussion about the role of microentrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.

The doctoral students asked questions about the role of local executive and representative bodies in creating favorable conditions for microentrepreneurs in various cities and the prospects for transferring the experience of individual cities to other regions.  At the event, they also exchanged views with entrepreneurship researchers and active microentrepreneurs, representatives of the Association of Business Coaches, the "Damu" Entrepreneurship Development Fund, and the "Respublica" party. This brought together entrepreneurs and representatives of organizations providing support and assistance to micro and small businesses to share their views.
