Dilyara Gritsenko participated in the Oxford Nanopore WYMM MEAI Summit 2025

Dr. Dilyara Gritsenko, PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Head of the Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology (Almaty, Kazakhstan), took part in the Oxford Nanopore WYMM MEAI Summit 2025, held on October 13–14, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The summit brought together leading researchers from the Middle East, Africa, and India working within the global One Health initiative, aimed at integrating genomic research across humans, animals, and plants to ensure food and biological security.
During the event, Dr. Gritsenko presented her talk entitled “Advances in sequencing plant viral genomes,” where she highlighted modern approaches to applying Oxford Nanopore technologies for analyzing plant viral pathogens, monitoring their evolution, and studying the genetic diversity of phytopathogens.
Her presentation garnered interest from the international scientific community and underscored the contribution of Kazakhstani researchers to the development of agrogenomics, virology, and bioinformatics. Participation in this summit aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
