Training seminar on the QS ranking was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology

On 20 October 2025, at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (room 216), the Director of the Center for Strategic Development, Gulzira Vasilina, conducted a training seminar on the international QS ranking system. The event brought together the faculty leadership and academic staff.

During the seminar, the speaker explained the key indicators of the QS methodology—academic reputation, employer reputation, citations, faculty–student ratio, internationalization, and sustainability. Practical guidance was provided on timely, high-quality data collection, developing a faculty-level indicator map, strengthening publication output, and enhancing collaboration with employers.

Action points agreed by the faculty:

• Appoint responsible persons for data collection and verification

• Regularly monitor publication metrics and joint projects

• Expand international partnerships and academic mobility
