Within the framework of SDG 2 (Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture), on the occasion of International Apple Day, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University professors gave an interview on the “Morning Studio” program.

Almaty, 21 October 2025 — On the morning show “Tañǵy Studiya” of Almaty TV, Prof. N.Z. Akhtayeva, Head of the Department of Botany and Agroecology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, and Prof. A.T. Kanaev, Honorary Professor of the department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, gave an interview dedicated to International Apple Day. The conversation featured engaging facts about apples, highlighted Kazakhstan’s status as the cradle of the apple, and shared inspiring stories to spark students’ interest in science.

The speakers addressed apple biodiversity, the importance of fruit trees in urban greening, and the role of environmental education. They also highlighted student research projects and initiatives promoting healthy eating.
