Nuclear industry experts exchanged experiences

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a scientific and practical seminar "Nuclear education: personnel of the future of the industry" for experts of the nuclear industry of Kazakhstan and graduates of the branch of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" (NRU MEPhI) in Kazakhstan.

The meeting was aimed at exchanging experience in the field of nuclear education and science, increasing the human resources potential of the industry, as well as strengthening scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia.

During the opening of the seminar, Nurlan Nurakhov, the curator of the branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI on the basis of KazNU, made a welcoming speech and stressed the importance of improving the personnel training system in the nuclear field. "Today's seminar is a vivid manifestation of the long–term partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia in the field of education and science. I would like to express my special warm gratitude to our strategic partner, Al–Farabi Kazakh National University. We highly appreciate your hospitality. The location of our branch at KazNU gives us the opportunity to train a new generation of specialists based on Kazakh and Russian scientific and educational traditions",- said Nurlan Nurakhov.

During the event, Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board of KazNU, Vice–Rector for Research and Innovation, made a speech, noting the importance of university cooperation in the development of research and innovation in the field of nuclear technology.

Marina Simakova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Almaty, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation, Valentina Upirova, Senior Manager of the Project Office for the Development of Education and International Cooperation at Rosatom State Corporation (online), and other experts also expressed their opinions during the seminar.

Within the framework of the seminar, experts of the nuclear industry of Kazakhstan, young scientists and undergraduates held an open discussion of current trends in nuclear energy, innovative technologies and personnel policy. The participants suggested specific ways to enhance the interaction between education and science.

At the end of the event, the graduates of 2025, who studied at the master's program of the branch in Kazakhstan, were awarded diplomas.
