Nuclear power plants have many advantages
Now the energy sector is developing well in the country. Including nuclear energy, which is in high demand in the world. Nuclear energy can become one of the most promising solutions capable of providing the country with sustainable, environmentally friendly and affordable energy for many decades. As you know, the basis of nuclear power is a nuclear power plant (NPP). This is because nuclear power plants have a number of important advantages over other power plants.
For example, a nuclear power plant provides a continuous supply of electricity, regardless of the weather. Nuclear power plants practically do not emit greenhouse gases, which makes them an important tool in the fight against climate change. Decades of operation of nuclear power plants around the world have helped to avoid more than 60 billion tons of carbon dioxide emissions. In the production of electricity, less fuel is used than coal and gas. This distinguishes nuclear energy as an economically and environmentally sound choice.
In economic terms, about 8 thousand jobs will be created in Kazakhstan during the construction of nuclear power plants and 2 thousand jobs will be created during the operation period. Each NPP employee encourages the creation of 10 additional jobs in related industries. As a result, the regions where nuclear plants will be built will receive a new impetus for development.
Currently, Kazakhstan has the largest uranium reserves in the world. This will allow the country not to depend on fuel imports. The construction of nuclear power plants reduces the need to purchase electricity from neighboring countries, ensuring energy independence and security. Modern third-generation reactors have unique active and passive safety systems. They are protected from natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, as well as from internal disasters thanks to layered protective shells. At the same time, technologies for processing fuel are being introduced in the nuclear power industry. This allows about 90 percent of the waste to be reused, reducing the amount of radioactive waste.
The project for the construction of a nuclear power plant is an important strategic project for Kazakhstan. The construction of a nuclear power plant will serve as an incentive for training specialists in the field of nuclear energy and nuclear physics. Kazakhstan has educational programs and research projects related to nuclear energy. The development of the nuclear industry attracts young scientists and students, providing new opportunities for scientific discoveries and innovations.
Nuclear power is not only a reliable source of electricity, but also an opportunity for Kazakhstan to become a leader in the field of sustainable development. Environmental friendliness, economic benefits, energy independence and job creation – all this makes the construction of nuclear power plants an important step for the future of the country. This project can become a driving force for progress that will allow Kazakhstan to solve current energy problems and create a solid foundation for sustainable development in the coming decades.
