Prizewinners of the National “ChemTech Hackathon by SU”

The national “ChemTech Hackathon by SU,” organized by the K.I. Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University under the educational program “Chemical Technology of Organic Substances,” has successfully concluded.

The main goal of this large-scale event was to foster students’ engineering and creative skills, as well as to promote innovative solutions in the field of organic chemical technology.

Students from leading universities across the country participated in the hackathon, presenting their projects in the field of chemical technology.

Representing Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, members of the SPE student organization from the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis, and Petrochemistry — Aibek Kurban, Fedor Pogorov, Amirali Ilyas, and Gulim Assilbekova (supervised by Associate Professor G.K. Vasilina) — impressed the jury with their innovative ideas and scientific preparation, earning high praise, cash prizes, and special certificates of appreciation. Their projects were aligned with SDG 9 — “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure,” focusing on petrochemistry and engineering.

This achievement is a vivid example of the professional knowledge, research skills, and creative thinking of Al-Farabi KazNU students. The university community sincerely congratulates the winners and wishes them continued scientific success and creative inspiration!
