The development of electronic technologies is a priority
Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted a meeting between Chairman of the Board – Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev and a delegation from the Guilin University of Electronic Technologies (China).
The Rector noted that China is one of KazNU's key strategic partners in the field of science and education. He stressed that the university is steadily strengthening its position in international rankings and is among the top 200 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2026.

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of expanding academic exchanges, conducting joint scientific research and implementing bilateral educational programs. Special attention was paid to cooperation in such areas as artificial intelligence, modeling, materials science, digital technologies and cybersecurity.

In recent years, the university has been actively developing partnerships with leading universities in China. During the negotiations, the successful work of the branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University (PRC), opened in 2023 on the basis of KazNU, was also announced.

Chen Songqing, Vice President of the Guilin University of Electronic Technology, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and drew attention to the Chinese side's interest in strengthening scientific and academic cooperation. GETU is one of the leading universities in China in the field of electronics, information technology and materials science.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conclude a memorandum on the establishment of joint research laboratories, the implementation of double-degree educational programs, the organization of the exchange of teachers, doctoral students and students, as well as joint participation in international research grants and projects.
