Scientific cooperation with Lanzhou University

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with the delegation of Lanzhou University of the People's Republic of China. The delegation was headed by the Vice-President of the University, Wang Wei.

During the negotiations, the rector noted the importance of the strategic partnership between KazNU and Lanzhou University. The importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of engineering and technology for the development of science and innovation was emphasized. In addition, the rector proposed to open an Al-Farabi Center at Lanzhou University. This initiative will deepen cultural, scientific and humanitarian ties between the two universities.

In turn, Vice President Wang Wei expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highly appreciated the scientific and innovative potential of KazNU, as well as its active position in expanding international cooperation. He noted that Lanzhou University maintains close ties with the Confucius Institute at KazNU. It was also emphasized that KazNU, having taken 38th place in the QS Asia University Rankings 2026, once again confirmed the status of a leading university in Central Asia.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the framework of specific projects and joint activities.
