The Week of the Arabic Language started in KazNU
The international "Week of the Arabic Language: in Central Asia / Kazakhstan" on the topic "Peculiarities of teaching Arabic in Islamic and religious studies" is being held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the Sultan ibn Abdulaziz Al-Saud International Language Training program.
The project is aimed at deepening scientific and cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Islamic world and at developing the Arabic language as an important tool for spiritual and scientific integration.
The organizers were The Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al-Saud Charitable Foundation and the Organization of the Islamic World for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO) and the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
At the opening ceremony, participants and guests were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Associate Professor Bekzhan Meirbayev. He spoke about KazNU's partnerships and joint projects with the ISESCO organization. Over the years of fruitful cooperation, large-scale events have been held, including the First International conference "Al-Farabi's Contribution to the History of Mankind" (Rabat, 2023), during which a memorandum of understanding was signed to expand cooperation between the Federation of Universities of the Islamic World at ISESCO and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Since October 2023, a scientific training seminar "Mishkat" has been held, organized by the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. "We hope that the Week of the Arabic Language in Kazakhstan and Central Asia will deepen the ties between KazNU and ISESCO, improving the language skills of our specialists", - Bekzhan Berikbayevich emphasized.
The event was also attended by: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Faisal bin Hanif Al-Qahtani, Deputy Director General of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud Charitable Foundation, Dr. Abdul Aziz al-Makushi and others.
Within the framework of the "Week of the Arabic Language: in Central Asia / Kazakhstan", leading experts of the ISESCO organization will hold seminars and master classes. The discussions will focus on innovative methods of teaching Arabic, issues of scientific communication in the field of Islamic and religious studies, as well as the role of the Arabic language in the transmission of cultural and spiritual values. Special attention will be paid to research experience in the field of Islamic and religious studies, as well as the relationship between language and culture.
