The Department of Fundamental Medicine trains students of the Higher School of Medicine in basic medical and pharmaceutical disciplines. The curriculum covers a wide range of fundamental subjects, including molecular and cell biology, medical genetics, medical biophysics, histology, normal and pathological anatomy, and physiology. The department also offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in Pharmacy. The department’s staff includes over 80 instructors, among them 4 Doctors of Science, 25 Candidates of Science and PhD holders, 8 Associate Professors, and 3 Professors. Five faculty members hold foreign diplomas. The team consists of 55 medical professionals as well as specialists in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and physics. Seven lecturers have completed international internships under the Bolashak program.
