A training for deans was held at KazNU
An educational marathon aimed at transforming internal management has been completed at al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The University's Business School presented a specialized training program "Strategic development of faculties and managerial competencies of deans".
This project has become an important step in realizing the university's global ambition of integrating modern business practices into the academic environment to enhance international competitiveness.
The five-week training program was divided into three intensive modules. This format allowed the participants not only to listen to lectures, but also to immerse themselves in the process of strategic design, combining training with current activities.

The key mentor of the course was Kaysar Makan, an authoritative teacher of the EMBA program at KazNU Business School. Under his leadership, the participants conducted a detailed audit of the current state of their divisions. An important feature of the training was the rejection of theoretical abstractions: each case was analyzed using the example of real faculty data. The deans have been working on rethinking the missions and vision, highlighting unique "growth points" that will attract talented students and major industrial partners.
During group discussions and workshops, faculty leaders mastered modern risk management and market trend analysis tools. Special attention was paid to the development of "soft skills" – the skills of forming effective teams and managing changes in a rapidly changing educational landscape.

The result of this month-and-a-half of work were strategic documents and practical tools for improving management efficiency and sustainable development of faculties. These are not just plans, but clear algorithms of actions for the qualitative renewal of educational programs and research potential.
