12 january, 2026

On January 12, 2026, an educational event titled “Rational Nutrition: The Role of Vitamins and Minerals” was held offline at Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University within the framework of SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being.” The event's partner was the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event aimed to promote students’ understanding of the importance of proper and balanced nutrition, explain the role of vitamins and minerals in the human body, and foster a culture of a healthy lifestyle.

During the meeting, participants discussed the significance of key micronutrients in strengthening the immune system, regulating metabolism, and maintaining the normal functioning of body systems. Students were divided into groups and presented projects on vitamins A, C, D, and B-complex, as well as on the effects of calcium, iron, and magnesium on human health. Their reports examined dietary sources and potential consequences of nutrient deficiencies in detail.

In an interactive discussion, participants developed recommendations for creating a balanced diet for adolescents and explored how nutrition quality influences energy levels, productivity, and overall well-being. Issues related to preserving nutrients during food preparation and developing healthy eating habits were also addressed.

13 students and 3 expert instructors attended the event. As a result, participants improved their knowledge of rational nutrition and healthy lifestyle culture and gained a deeper understanding of the role of micronutrients in body functioning. The event contributed to fostering a conscious approach to food choices and awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition.
