China – Central Asia Publishing Center opened in KazNU
The opening ceremony of the China-Central Asia Publishing Center was held at the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University.
The presentation was organized as part of the large–scale event "Book Culture of the Great Silk Road: Dialogue of Civilizations – launch of the Publishing Center "China - Central Asia". The new center will serve as a unique platform for book publishing, the development of translation, the exchange of international scientific resources and the strengthening of strategic partnership in the format of "government – university – business – industry – media".

The solemn meeting was attended by: Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty Su Fangqiu, Vice-President of Xi'an Jiaotong University Cai Wei, Director of the University's publishing house Li Zhong, Director of the Central State Archive Sabit Shildebai. The event was also attended by leading professors of Xi'an Jiaotong University, specialists from international departments, qualified publishing experts, representatives of the diplomatic corps and renowned scientists.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that this center will become a "golden core" in the field of modern science and education. "This initiative will further expand the horizons of friendship and cooperation between our states. The center's activities cover several strategic areas. First, there will be the possibility of mutual translation and publication of scientific and literary works of China and Central Asian countries. Secondly, it is planned to intensify joint academic research and develop scientific publications. Thirdly, new professional opportunities are opening up for young scientists, translators and publishing specialists",- said the rector.

In turn, Chinese Consul General Su Fangqiu highly appreciated the center's role in deepening humanitarian exchange. "Friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China are developing every day. The two countries are establishing partnerships in the fields of science, economics, education and other areas by implementing common projects. Culture and education play a special role among them. I believe that the publishing center, which we are opening today on the basis of KazNU, will contribute to the further strengthening of civilization, culture and education in the two countries",- said the Consul General.

During the event, Cai Wei, Vice President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, said: "Xi'an Jiaotong University, which is one of the modern universities in China, always serves the state strategy and strives to develop partnerships with foreign universities. This year marks the 130th anniversary of the educational institution. The Publishing Center "China – Central Asia" is a joint project of KazNU and Xi'an Jiaotong University. In the future, books on artificial intelligence, engineering, ecology and other fields will be prepared here".

At the meeting, important agreements were signed on the translation into Chinese of such works as "President Tokayev and China" and "A series of philosophical works by al-Farabi". There was also a presentation of the first joint project of the publishing house "Kazakh University" and the Publishing Center "China – Central Asia" – a trilingual monograph "International legal regulation of transboundary rivers".

This book examines current issues of international legal regulation of the use of transboundary water resources, analyzes the existing contractual mechanisms. In addition, ways to improve cooperation between States are proposed.

At the end of the event, the delegation of Xi'an Jiaotong University donated valuable publications to the Farabi Library fund and specified priority areas for further international cooperation.
