An Event on “Types of Bullying and Ways of Its Prevention” Held within the Framework of SDG-4
Within the framework of an advisory hour and in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-4), on March 16, 2026, first-year students of the educational program 6B01502 – Biology of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, under the supervision of Acting Associate Professor, PhD Zh.K. Kenzheyeva, organized and conducted an educational event for first-year TMD students on the topic “Types of Bullying and Ways of Its Prevention.”
During the event, several educational activities were carried out.
A class hour on the topic “Types of Bullying and Ways of Its Prevention” was conducted in the academic group of first-year TMD students. The purpose of the event was to increase students’ awareness of the problem of bullying, promote respectful attitudes toward one another, and prevent possible conflicts in the student environment.

During the class hour, students were introduced to the concept of bullying, its main types (physical, psychological, social, and cyberbullying), as well as the possible consequences of bullying for both individuals and the collective. Special attention was paid to the development of communication culture, mutual respect, and support within the student group.
The event was held in the form of a discussion and interactive conversation. Students actively expressed their opinions, shared examples from their experiences, and suggested ways to prevent such situations. As a result, the participants concluded that it is essential to maintain a positive psychological climate and prevent manifestations of bullying in the educational environment.

As a result of the educational session, students gained an understanding of the concept of bullying, its main types, and its possible consequences for both individuals and the group. The participants expanded their knowledge of respectful communication and the importance of maintaining a positive psychological climate within the student community.

During the discussion, students demonstrated active participation by expressing their opinions and analyzing possible conflict situations. This contributed to the development of a more responsible attitude toward their behavior and interactions with others.
Overall, the event had a positive educational impact. Students developed a clear understanding of the unacceptability of bullying, increased their willingness to support one another, and recognized the importance of seeking help when conflicts arise. The class hour contributed to strengthening a friendly atmosphere and fostering a culture of respectful communication within the student community.
