The annual ‘Campus on Campus’ meeting has concluded

The annual meeting ‘Campus to Campus’, which is held at Al-Farabi KazNU, continued with a discussion of proposals and initiatives of the participants concerning the development of cooperation in the field of science and education.

 

The second day of the representative forum started with a presentation by Phillips Neale, Vice-Chair of the Internationalisation Working Group, who presented his vision for the future work of the Campus-in-Campus (CiC) project participants. The speaker paid special attention to innovation and R&D, encouraging students to pursue interdisciplinary studies and getting to know the local culture and industry.

Next, there was a discussion of the topics of presentations by participants of the Campus on Campus (CiC) initiative, which enables students and staff to participate in global education and research across organisational and national barriers.
Thus, the participants discussed the issues of strengthening research collaboration among CiC network members, the balance between virtual and face-to-face learning, implementation of SDG projects, partnerships for sharing resources and experiences that promote synergies in research, education and industry.

The next stage of CiC is aimed at transition from bilateral to multilateral co-operation, which will allow to expand the participation of partners and lead to the implementation of global educational experience.
The meeting based on the discussion adopted a further action plan of the Campus-to-Campus Programme participants aimed at strengthening cooperation and developing joint programmes in the field of research and implementation of educational projects.

At the event there was a ceremony of awarding the title of ‘Honorary Professor of Al-Farabi KazNU’ to the President of Tsukuba University Mr Kyosuke Nagata.
The results of the meeting were summarised by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, thanking the participants for the informative forum, which opens a new page of the international project ‘Campus on Campus’.

As part of the event, a campus tour was organised for the participants, during which they visited the Remote Sensing and Applications Technology laboratory and the Farabi Hub, a centre for innovative products and high-tech projects.
