SDG №4: A curatorial hour was held on the theme Unity in Diversity – The Future of Kazakhstan»
The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Senior Lecturer of the UNESCO Sustainable Development Department, Doctor of Philosophy, and Curator-Advisor S.T. Kaldybaeva held a curator’s hour with 2nd-year students of the «6B11201 – Environmental Protection and Life Safety» program on the topic «Unity in Diversity – The Future of Kazakhstan», where they discussed how diversity contributes to unity.
During the advisory session, the curator-advisor emphasized that the future of the country lies in the hands of educated and qualified youth, and noted that the driving force of society is the youth. He also referenced the words of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who said: «I believe in the youth» of our outstanding poet Magzhan Zhumabaev. The phrase «The future of our country is in the hands of youth» was supported by various examples showing that the future of the state and nation is directly tied to the future of the youth, particularly through the initiatives of the President.
In order to care for Kazakhstan's youth and protect them from various negative influences, several state programs have been adopted, and specific actions have been taken on topics such as «Protecting youth from drug addiction and drug trafficking», «Prevention of terrorist acts» and «Formation of an anti-corruption mindset». Regarding youth employment, particular attention has been given to creating new jobs and providing educational grants to students from socially vulnerable families.
